A lot of people have come to discover the many uses of the Mario Badescu spray and the MAC Fix +. I get asked all the time which I like better and which I think does an overall job. I have come to the conclusion that I love both of them but for different reasons. I find that the Mario Badescu has uses that the MAC Fix + does not and vice versa.
Mario Badescu – Rose Water: One of the many reasons I love this so much is the price tag. For 4oz you pay $7.00 and for 8oz you pay $12.00. I have noticed with this spray that my face has become more of an even tone and less red. I use this spray constantly. I use this mostly as a refresher to the skin and after moisturizer. If I don’t end up using a toner, I tend to use this instead. I don’t like this for making eyeshadows and highlights more vibrant. I use this as a toner spray as well as a priming and setting spray. I like the nozzle on this a lot better than the Fix +. This spray, if you spray it once it’ll spray your whole face versus the Fix + that will spray one area.
MAC Fix +:This product is a bit pricier than the Badescu spray but it is more of a 2-in-1 spray. It retails for $25.00 This is good for your skin as a refresher and after moisturizer. It is very hydrating and I notice that my skin is more dewy and vibrant. I also love using this for eyeshadows and highlights to really make them pop. I love using this as a priming and setting spray. I have not tried the new launch of Fix + but I need to. Overall I like the Fix + when I need a quick refresher for my skin.

I have really dry skin so when it comes to foundation, I really don’t wear that much. That being said, I have about three go-to’s for special occasions such as weddings and proms. My three range from medium coverage all the way to full coverage. All of the foundations that I use have to be luminous or dewy or else my skin just looks dry and dehydrated.
IT CC Cream– Yesterday, I said that IT was one of my favorite brands and this is one of my favorite products from them. It is full coverage but has many skin benefits such as SPF, corrects dark spots, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins A, B, C, and E for an overall better complexion. If you have dry skin, this is honestly the perfect foundation for you. It doesn’t feel heavy on the face and it stays put all day even without setting it.
Fit Me Dewy + Smooth– This foundation provides more of a medium coverage but still is one of my all time favorites. I tend to use this foundation in the summer because the shade 225 Natural Buff is the perfect tan shade for me. This also has SPF in it and blends out beautifully on the skin. If you like a more matte foundation, they also have the Fit Me Matte + Poreless which is another great foundation.
L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi – This foundation is another medium coverage one. My favorite thing about these is the undertones in them range from cool, neutral, and warm. I have a very neutral undertone so I find with these foundations I don’t have to mix a whole bunch to get my shade. The lumi ones I find are very radiant and help you look more awake. This foundation also has SPF and leaves your skin looking flawless.
Let me know what foundations are yalls favorites and how you like to wear them!
For the month of March, I am going to try to post everyday and do the makeup blog challenge. Normally, finding something to write about is the hardest part about a blog. I hope this month I keep posting constantly and finish this challenge.
03/01 – What are my favorite makeup brands?
For this question, I thought it would be appropriate to break it up into drugstore and high end. There are a lot of great brands out there that fit into those categories. With this, I’m also going to mention products that I like from these brands.
Maybelline – This is my go to brand at the drugstore. I feel like in all categories and products of makeup, I have a go to from Maybelline. Their Super Stay Matte Ink is one of my favorite lip products ever. My favorite shade is a deep red that I wore to homecoming and it stayed on through dinner and dancing. Their Fit Me foundations are amazing and those are another one of my go-to’s. The best mascara from them is by far Falsies. I’ll link my post here on my review of this mascara.
L’Oreal – This is another of my go-to’s. My favorite mascara ever comes from this brand and it’s Telescopic. I like very long and separated lashes and this mascara has the perfect formula for it. The wand is super skinny so it makes it easy to coat bottom lashes. I also love their setting spray. I use this and switch back and forth from Fix +. Definitely a cheaper option.
NYX – This is by far my favorite brand in the whole entire world. Their lip products are stunning and this brand just has it all. My favorite lip in the whole wide world is the Creamy Suede Lipstick in the shade Soft Spoken. It’s a mauve nude and have repurchased this over and over again. NYX also has my favorite eyeliner in the world the Epic Ink Liner. It has a brush tip and is so smooth to create the perfect wing. It is my go to and I recommend this for beginners all the way to professionals.
IT Cosmetics – From their makeup to their brushes this brand is phenomenal. Their CC cream works so well for me since I have dry skin and has such full coverage too. They have my favorite eyebrow product which is the Brow Power Universal Taupe. This is the best one I have ever used and has been my go to ever since I started doing my brows.
I hope you all enjoyed the first day of my beauty blog challenge. Comment down below what your favorite brands are and your go-to products from there!
Right now, I’ve been into fresh dewy skin and just a natural complexion. My skin is looking better than ever and I swear by these five products. I myself have extremely dry skin where it results in dry patches and such, but these products are amazing and I recommend them for every skin type.
Purity Facial Cleanser (Ulta $24.00) – This cleanser is amazing. I use this at night when I take off my makeup and it removes everything. I use it with my cleansing brush and it works amazing. It feels very refreshing and it is also gentle on the skin. I switch between this one and Cetaphil and I love them both.
Thayers Witch Hazel Toner (Target $10.39) – So I started using toner maybe a month ago and I have definitely seen a difference. My skin tone is more even and overall less red. I have not been getting as many breakouts as before. I use this after my face wash and the toner just takes off the excess dirt and oil and it has made a huge difference. I like this one in particular since it is alcohol free it’s less drying.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost (Target $16.19) – When I went to the dermatologist a while back, he gave me a whole box of samples of this product and I am in love. Its a gel so it feels cooling and a little bit thicker on the skin. I can definitely feel it sink in to my skin and it feels super hydrating. I recommend this product for dry skin because I firmly believe this is what makes my skin look fresh and dewy.
Fix + (MAC $26.00) – After putting on moisturizer, I’ve gotten into a habit of constantly spraying this on my face. I use it anytime my skin feels a little dry and it helps without being extremely heavy on the skin. I also use this when I have on makeup and it just makes everything dewy and natural. I recommend this for anyone and any skin type.
Especially with winter making the air really dry, it is important to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. With a good skin care routine, your skin will always look its best. Comment what products work best for you!
Happy New Year! Today I thought it was finally time to post about the makeup I got for Christmas. Most of these products have been around for a while but all of them made it on my list. I am extremely grateful for what I got and will continue to play around with these products.
Prep + Prime – $26.00 – Everyone has heard of Fix + and I had never tried it before. I have super dry skin and I have a hard time of finding face products that don’t dry me out and break me out. This product is honestly at the top of my list. I love this stuff and I use it about 5 times a day. I use it after my toner and moisturizer in the morning and I can feel and see a difference in my skin. I stay hydrated longer and I don’t feel the need to apply moisturizer that often. I use this as more as a refresher and also use it when applying eyeshadow and highlight if I want it to have the extra pop. Highly recommend this product no matter your skin type.
Travel size BECCA Backlight Primer – $18.00 – I am all for a dewy complexion and hydrated skin. This product is beautiful by itself or underneath foundation. Now I have really sensitive skin so when I wore this the first time, I noticed a little bit of irritation in my skin, but the more I wear it, my skin gets used to it. It looks nice and dewy on your skin.
Smashbox Travel Priming Kit – $22.00 – I am absolutely in love with this priming kit. The water as well as the primers themselves. I have pretty average size pores but I definitely notice a difference in size. I notice that my makeup stays longer and it is for sure one of my favorites at the moment.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream (light) – $38.00 – I am typically not a full coverage person. I normally stay towards minimal concealer and a dewy complexion but this CC cream is everything. It makes your skin look like you’re glowing from within and covers everything! My grandmother actually bought the supersize version of this and I tried it and fell absolutely in love. I like applying these with a stippling brush rather than the brush shown because that one makes it look a bit streaky.
Naked Skin Concealer (Medium-light) – $29.00 – I got this concealer from a friend and I only heard good things about it. This is a very high coverage concealer but I typically only use it to spot conceal. This shade is a little on the dark side for me so what I have been doing is putting in on where I want coverage and blending it out with the Instant Age Rewind concealer that I use to highlight my face. I have been loving this combination and highly recommend.
PUR Cosmetics Sculpt and Highlight Travel palettes – $14.00 – These products I am still playing around with. The highlights are beautiful and really compliment my skin tone. They also have very neutral undertones so they would work on varied skin tones. The bronzers are either very warm, cool, or glittery. I find mixing them together cakes on a lot of product and using them by themselves the undertone isn’t right. That being said, I have a very neutral undertone so it’s difficult to find bronzers that fit me just right. If you have a warmer or cooler skin tone these would be perfect for you.
Naked Smokey Palette – ON SALE $27.00 – Just like my skin, my eyelids are extremely sensitive. I find that the Naked palettes are some of the only eyeshadows that stay all day and don’t break me out. This palette specifically, I think the colors are stunning but swatching them, the shimmers are a little on the crumbly side and the mattes are a little on the chalky side. I think in all the Naked palettes the shimmers are a bit crumbly but in this palette I noticed it more with the darker shadows.
Stila Cushion Eyeliner – ON SALE $4.00 – I am a fan of liquid brush eyeliners. I find it super easy to create a wing. These, take a lot of work to get a nice straight line but once you figure it out, they look stunning.
Stila Liquid Lipstick Set – $20.00 – These stay all day. I love them and the colors I have a beautiful. They are also travel size so they are perfect for on the go. The darker one I found to be a little streaky but still a beautiful color.
Estee Lauder lipstick – $32.00 – The formula of these are so nice and smooth. I sometimes even use these on my cheeks for a wash of color. These aren’t super long wearing but they are super easy to touch up.
I hope you guys found some of this helpful and comment down below what you got for Christmas! If you have any tips for these products comment those as well (:
It’s been a hot second since I’ve posted but I have had A LOT going on recently for the good. October I spent most of my time working, spending time with family and friends, and I’m currently in a relationship! Life has been on the up lately and I am extremely thankful. Even though homecoming was almost a month ago, I thought I would still post about them. I got to go to two this year because my boyfriend goes to a different school so it was extremely different and fun.
My homecoming was October 14th and I posted a vlog on my YouTube channel about it a while ago. My day pretty much consisted of me running errands, getting my nails done, and doing other people’s hair. My day was super fun and my boyfriend was out of town so I got to go with all my girlfriends and it was super fun. My dress was from Macy’s and it was black with embroidery flowers on the sides and it was stunning. I paired it with an olive green chunky heel and I think together it looked phenomenal. My nails I got coffin rose-gold shimmer acrylics and they were by far my favorite thing.
My boyfriend’s homecoming was October 28th and it was different. None of my girlfriends went so it was just me and him and we had a great time. My nails were the same for his homecoming as they were for mine. My dress I borrowed from my friend and it was black with lace trimming on the bottom. My shoes were my favorite part of the whole outfit because they were black suede and had a four inch heel on them. Makeup I kept it simple with minimal eye shadow and a wing liner. My hair I did the same as my last homecoming. Overall, it was super fun and I had a great time.
I hope you guys had a great hoco and promise that I will start posting more on the regular! If you haven’t seen them already, my hoco vlog is uploaded so check it out on YouTube!
Happy Tuesday! This morning I thought I would list my top five products at the moment and why they’re my favorite. Most of these products I have had for a while and they are my go-to’s. I thought I would start this series called #5faves and each month I will post my five faves of hair, makeup, skin, and so on.
Baked Impressions Eye Palette (Espresso Yourself)– ($15) This eye shadow palette by Laura Geller is my number one go-to at the moment. It is a trio eye shadow palette with warm and cool toned browns. Personally I like to use the middle shade in my crease and I love taking my bronzer brush and tapping my brush in all the colors and use it as a bronzer. I am pale so finding a nice shade of bronzer is difficult for me. The undertone in this palette goes well with my skin tone and makes it one of my go-to’s. I highly recommend this palette for the quality and the price.
NYX Professional Epic Ink Eyeliner– ($7.99) I have danced for many years and that leads to stage makeup. I have gotten good at doing wing liner over the years with a mix of materials. This liner, I taught my best friend how to do a wing that couldn’t do one to save her life before this one. This eyeliner I like the small brush tip applicator because you can be more precise. I like it better than a felt tip pen because I find that those are dryer and makes it harder to make a precise line unlike this one. Highly recommend this eyeliner to anyone and everyone.
You Curl 400F Tourmaline CeramicWand– ($39.99) I recently chopped my hair and it has layers in it and I am loving these beachy waves that I create with this wand. This wand heats up so fast and I can curl my whole head in about 15 minutes. My technique is to wrap the hair and hold it on the wand for about 5 seconds and when I release it I pull it straight and it leaves this beautiful, long curl. I like this technique because it is natural and it looks better than the tight, kinky curls. If you guys are interested in a hair tutorial, comment down below and I’ll make a video on it. (:
Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Thickener– ($6.99) I get my nails done all the time with acrylics and it wrecks havoc on my nails. I have homecoming in about two weeks so I decided until then I would use this to nurse my nails back to heath and it does a great job. If you have weak or fragile, flaky nails I highly recommend this product.
Elf Studio Eyebrow Kit– ($2.99) I have recently discovered and I love this. It is such a good quality for such a good price. I only use the gel because I just like the finish better but I highly recommend it.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know your #5faves in the comments below! If you’ve tried any of these, let me know what you think!
