Mario Badescu Rosewater vs. MAC Fix +

A lot of people have come to discover the many uses of the Mario Badescu spray and the MAC Fix +. I get asked all the time which I like better and which I think does an overall job. I have come to the conclusion that I love both of them but for different reasons. I find that the Mario Badescu has uses that the MAC Fix + does not and vice versa.

Mario Badescu – Rose Water: One of the many reasons I love this so much is the price tag. For 4oz you pay $7.00 and for 8oz you pay $12.00. I have noticed with this spray that my face has become more of an even tone and less red. I use this spray constantly. I use this mostly as a refresher to the skin and after moisturizer. If I don’t end up using a toner, I tend to use this instead. I don’t like this for making eyeshadows and highlights more vibrant. I use this as a toner spray as well as a priming and setting spray. I like the nozzle on this a lot better than the Fix +. This spray, if you spray it once it’ll spray your whole face versus the Fix + that will spray one area.

MAC Fix +:This product is a bit pricier than the Badescu spray but it is more of a 2-in-1 spray. It retails for $25.00 This is good for your skin as a refresher and after moisturizer. It is very hydrating and I notice that my skin is more dewy and vibrant. I also love using this for eyeshadows and highlights to really make them pop. I love using this as a priming and setting spray. I have not tried the new launch of Fix +  but I need to. Overall I like the Fix + when I need a quick refresher for my skin.

Review: The Dew Puff

I received this product about two weeks ago and I thought today would be a good day to write my review. So these sponges are meant to replace a washcloth when taking off your makeup. There are three different kinds: the Original meant for all skin types, the Asian Clay which is meant for dry and aging skin, lastly there is the bamboo charcoal one for blemish prone skin. I will admit that I have yet to use the bamboo charcoal one because my skin is so dry I’m afraid of what the charcoal would do to me. I’m going to ask one of my friends to test it out for me so stay posted as it will be uploaded within a week to this post.

I’m going to start with a bit of background information. The company sent me a brochure and a letter explaining and providing a bit more information about the Dew Puff. So this product retails for about eight dollars which honestly isn’t that much. The brochure claims that it keeps you naturally hydrated because of the pH balance, that there’s no preservatives, 100% natural Kojak fiber, and you can use this product alone or with the cleanser. I personally use this with the cleanser because I find it leaves my skin even more hydrating cleaner than what it could be a alone. For cleanser you can use whatever type you had one hand I think anytime will work. I use the Cetaphill cleanser because it’s just personally one of my favorites.

Above, you can see the size difference from completely dry to completely soaked. The one on the left is what it looks like completely dried down. The one is the middle is what it looks like 12 hours after you’ve used it. The one on the right is what it looks like right after you run it under water.

Original- So the original sponge was very soft and very similar to the Asian clay one that is meant for dry skin. I think that’s the safest one to buy if you’re unsure just because it works on all skin types. After using it, your face will look and feel clean as well as soft.

Asian Clay- This sponge is my favorite out of the two I have tried because after I use it my skin feels like I just put moisturizer on. Something about the Asian play just re-hydrates your skin and leaves feeling super soft. If you have really dry skin I really recommend the sponge because unlike a brush, this is not to get your skin it’s very soft and it glides on top of your skin and removes all your make up and leaves your skin feeling new.

Bamboo Charcoal- So I had one of my friends try this out for about a month now and she loves it. She uses it with a moisturizing cleanser so it isn’t super dry. She can see a difference in her skin and how it isn’t as oily and her face looks even and smooth. She really loves the Dew Puff and recommends it.

My final thoughts on this product is that it’s a real winner in it will work for everyone. You can go generic and get the Original for appear clean or you can get the sponge that is not for your skin type and either one will work beautifully. I think for Christmas and this would be a great gift as a stocking stuffer or for just in general. I really recommend spending the eight dollars and buying the sponge. You can sanitize it by soaking it and putting it in the microwave for a minute and it can last up to three months.

If you have tried the Dew Puff before, comment down below your thoughts on it or helpful tips on how to use it.

Review: Infallible Total Cover Foundation

A few weeks ago, I went to the drugstore to get a foundation for prom. I picked up the Infallible Total Cover Foundation and wanted to do a review on it. Overall, I hated this product and would not recommend it.

Price: I would say the only thing about this product that I liked is the price. It’s about ten dollars at the drugstore. I just wouldn’t buy this product again.

Application/Formula: I hated the formula. It was moussy and thick. I guess you could expect this from a “total cover” foundation but IT WAS NOT EVEN FULL COVER! I tried applying it with a brush and a beauty blender and it was not a smooth, full cover foundation. The color was all wrong and I couldn’t get it to look right.

Wearing: I did not like the way this sat on my face. I noticed that I started getting little bumps due to irritation because I have sensitive skin. I had to take it off immediately because it did not agree with my skin. If you have sensitive skin I do not recommend this.

Overall: If you couldn’t tell, I did not like this product. I wish I did and I wish I had the right color. Maybe I will go back and grab a different shade and try this again.

If you have this and you love it, comment down below how you apply it and such because I could be using it wrong.

Review: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

So over the weekend, I went shopping for my facial cleanser and such, and I checked to see if Target had restocked on this mascara and they did! I picked one up and I was so happy! Although this is a new tube, I have tried this mascara many times before and love it. I thought I would share my opinions about this mascara and recommend it to everyone who loves long lashes.

Packaging: This packaging reminds me of a fitness powder container. Maybe it’s the font or the colors but it looks “healthy” to me. It’s not girly or cute but I think if it is marketing long lashes, this packaging really works well.

lash accelerator

Price: This mascara is made by Rimmel so it is a drugstore product. At Target, it is $5.89. Super cheap for how amazing this product is.

Application: When you first use this, this product applies a little bit runny. Once you get to using it for about two weeks the formula starts to get sort of tacky and really sticks to your lashes. I like to rotate the wand and wiggle it through the lashes. I also go back and focus just on the tips of the lashes. I always curl my lashes before applying.

Wear: This mascara lasts all day. When I go to take it off, I don’t see flakes under my eyes. When taking off, it comes off so easily and I can see growth in my natural lashes.

ConsThe only cons I can think of for this product is that my eyelashes seem to droop after a little while. The other one is that you do have to use the product more before it gets to be a nice consistency.

I really recommend this product to everyone who wants longer lashes. Comment your favorite way for your lashes to look.

Elf Highlighter Review

I was supposed to do this forever ago but I have just been super busy. Anyways, today I’m finally doing my elf highlighter review. I did have to stop wearing this product for about a week because I think the concealer I was using caused irritation on my cheek.

So this highlighter is amazing. I am in love with it. I cannot wait to go to the store and buy the other two colors. It was that good and I have nothing bad to say about it. This is going to be a short review just because of how much I loved it.

Elf, as we all know, is a very affordable brand which is one of the reasons I love this so much. The shade that I got, Blushed Gems, is so flattering on my skin tone. The pigmentation is outstanding. It lasts all day and it’s not like a gliterry highlight. It just all pigment and just a great highlighter. I am very happy with it and I recommend it to everyone.

Mascara Review: Falsies

It’s Monday again!

Over the weekend, I was in need of a new mascara so I went to Target and grabbed one of my favorites: Maybelline’s Falsies Mascara.  I love this stuff.  It’s so affordable and fantastic.  The brush is curved so that provides curl and lift to the lashes. It stays all day even when I do not curl my lashes.

Eyelashes

This is what the lashes look like with the mascara and I love it.  I get the mascara in the blackest shade just because I like the look. They are very volumized and long and I love them.

So this review has been fairly short but I just wanted to say how much I love this mascara.  It is my favorite drugstore mascara. This is also available in waterproof and it is also one of my favorites.  It stays on very well and doesn’t flake and just goes on very smoothly.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Review

On this cold Saturday, I thought I would sit down and write a review of the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick.  In this review, we’re going to talk about the price, pros, cons, and my overall thoughts of this product.  I have been testing out this product for about a month now and the first thing I want to say about it is that I love it.  It is my favorite out of any cream lipstick I have tried.  It doesn’t cake up on the lips, it doesn’t crease easily, the pigmentation is outstanding, and it lasts a while.  I highly recommend this product. (BTW I have the shade 04)

Price: Since NYX is a drugstore brand, this product retails for about 7 dollars, which isn’t much at all.  Comparing it to the price of a Colourpop lipstick is about the same and I like my NYX lipstick a lot better than the Colourpop.  This product is very cheap and affordable which makes it even better.

Pros: Like I said earlier, I am a huge fan of this product.  I think everything about it is amazing.  The pigmentation is outstanding considering that this is a drugstore product.  The applicator is also skinny so it is very easy to make clean lines. The formula is very smooth, and since it is a cream lipstick it is a bit liquidy.  This product does have a matte finish which I love but, it is not a drying lipstick so that’s even better.

Cons: Throughout testing this lipstick, I thought that the only con was that this product is not smear proof.  When you eat/drink throughout the day, it does wear off a little at a time so you will have to do some touch-ups during the day.

Overall thoughts: Overall, this product is a hit.  It’s cheap, pigmented, comes in many shades, and I am very happy with it.  I highly recommend going out and trying this product.  Comment down below if you have any of these shades and let me know how you like it.
